Length at a glance
| What you're playing | Official estimate | Player-reported |
|---|---|---|
| Free Prologue | ~30 minutes | 41-44 min main story (HowLongToBeat, 9 runs) |
| EA first chapter | ~15 hours | ~10 hours (Eurogamer / Gadgets360) |
| EA period | ~1 year | Multiple major updates planned |
| Full 1.0 | Not specified | Follows after the EA year |
The Prologue (free, ~30 minutes)
The Prologue is a narrative experience the developers estimate at around 30 minutes. It is story-only: no combat, no open world — you play Noa's commencement ritual, then modern-day Clio solving her father's letter in a university library. HowLongToBeat players report roughly 41-44 minutes for the main story. The Prologue is a standalone build and its progress does not carry into Early Access.
Early Access first chapter (~15 hours official)
At launch, the game includes the first piece of the campaign, expected to take approximately 15 hours. Eurogamer's early coverage cited around 10 hours and Gadgets360 repeated it, so treat 10-15 hours as the realistic range, with ~15 hours as the developer's planning number.
What is in the EA chapter right now: the first act of the story, open-world Amsterdam with day/night and investigation, witchcraft abilities (Lux / Nux / Kinesia), Aaron the cat (scouting, possession, infiltration), potion crafting and ability unlocks. The rest of the campaign arrives through updates during the EA year.
Full release (about one year after EA)
Early Access is expected to last approximately one year before 1.0. No full-release date or total game length has been announced.
Replay value
Runs can differ: when you find an ability you choose one of three (sometimes before knowing what it does), abilities you do not permanently unlock are lost when a section ends, and the cat's appearance is chosen at the commencement ritual from nine named cats — though it is always Aaron.
